I need to attend the Get Your Teach On National Convention in Orlando, Florida so my students can learn even more content in a highly engaging classroom.
This project expired on April 27, 2020.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach fifth grade math at a small, rural elementary school in Florida. Our students may come from humble backgrounds, but they have big dreams! In order to achieve any dream, my students need fundamental math, which is a critical life skill they will need to be successful in any college or career path. I strive to provide a classroom environment where all students, regardless of ability, can learn and grow.
Although they all receive a free breakfast and lunch, my students amaze me every day with their humor and thinking.
While I will never explain to them why our school is eligible, I am grateful that all of my students are able to at least eat 2 nutritious meals each day so they can focus on their learning without growling bellies.
I love my students and want to give them the best education I can during our classroom time together. The Get Your Teach On National Conference will give me the opportunity to learn from some of the most passionate and influential educators in the country.
I will learn strategies to create a classroom that promotes a fun educational experience by increasing student engagement, and will be able to immediately implement these ideas in my teaching.
In addition, best instructional practices will increase the rigor in my classroom. This conference will help me to take my math content to the next level- from ordinary to extraordinary! I cannot wait to attend this inspiring event!
