Your support has made a profound difference in the lives of our young learners and their families. When we first showed them the gowns, their eyes lit up with wonder. One student exclaimed, \"I'm a big kid now!\" Your contribution made these moments of joy and pride possible for every child in our program. Our graduation celebration will take place on May 21, 2026 where parents and family members will gather to witness these children celebrate their growth, curiosity, and readiness to embrace kindergarten. The program will feature our students singing special songs about moving up to kindergarten followed by the presentation of graduation certificates recognizing each child's achievement and transition to this important new chapter. As we move into the next phase, our PreK class will focus on transition activities designed to support a smooth shift to kindergarten, building social-emotional skills, and exploring foundational literacy and numeracy. The confidence and sense of accomplishment fostered by your generosity will serve as a foundation for their continued success.","fullyFundedDate":1762267746983,"projectUrl":"project/were-ready-to-cap-off-this-chapter/9475469/","projectTitle":"We’re Ready to ‘Cap Off’ This Chapter!","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. S.","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10083107_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753127149120","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dr-solway"},{"teacherId":2200407,"projectId":9957749,"letterContent":"Since the clay arrived, it has completely transformed our classroom experience. Students have been using it during art and cross-curricular lessons to model ideas, experiment with texture and form, and bring their learning to life in a hands-on way. One especially meaningful moment was watching students carefully plan their designs, revise their work as they went, and proudly explain what their finished pieces represented. The clay gave them a new way to express understanding that words alone often can't capture.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the clay, their excitement was immediate and contagious. They were amazed that they would get to work with real sculpting materials and couldn't wait to begin. Even students who are usually more reserved were eager to participate, getting their hands involved and asking thoughtful questions about techniques and possibilities. The materials instantly created a sense of joy and curiosity in the room.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, students now have ongoing access to a creative tool that supports fine motor skills, problem-solving, and self-expression. Our next steps include expanding these projects by connecting clay work to storytelling and academic concepts, allowing students to design more detailed pieces and reflect on their creative choices. Your generosity has given our students an unforgettable learning experience, and we are truly grateful for the impact you've made in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1767803505651,"projectUrl":"project/authentic-art-inquiry-experiences-with/9957749/","projectTitle":"Authentic Art & Inquiry Experiences With Clay","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mauldin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2200407_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1481041707627","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/dawn-mauldin"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68282","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":632,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Weighted Average","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":35.8,"schoolId":68282,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Astatula Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Astatula Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/lake-county-school-district/astatula-elementary-school/68282"}
