Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like when you realized there was a whole world out past your rural small town existence?

My students are learning English as their second language.

They live in a rural farming community and work along side their parents in the fields during harvest. The school I work at has 86% free and reduced lunch and had to cut teachers pay in order to balance the budget.

My Project

The scholastic magazines I am requesting will open the eyes of students who have never seen anything other than their small town. The reading abilities of the students would grow as they look at life in ways they have never imagined it. These magazines will open the minds and possibilities for students.

This project is an important tool for getting children interested in the possibilities that life has to offer.

Viewing the world through words and pictures in real life settings will expand their hopes and dreams for success. It will show students a possibility outside of picking fruit in the fields.
