My students need alternative seating options like a stand-up desk and balance ball chairs to allow them to work in an environment that will best accommodate their individual learning styles.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students in my Title 1 elementary school are full of life and energy! Many of the students are like sponges ready to soak up all the knowledge they can. Hands-on activities are most effective to ensure that our students retain and understand the information presented.
The students in my elementary school come from high poverty, but they are hungry to learn.
We know that our students have a lot of learning potential and want desperately to help them achieve to their fullest potential! My school challenges every student, but puts supports in place to help all students be successful.
My Project
All students have different learning styles and work environment preferences. As an educator, my primary goal is to provide my students with the materials that will enable them to be the best learners that they can be. These materials will allow my students to work in an environment that best meets their needs to be productive learners.
One student may need to stand at a taller desk while another student prefers to balance on a stability ball while completing a project.
Whatever the preference, having these materials present in my classroom will allow each child to choose what works best for themselves.
