My Project

The goal of this project is to ensure that children in my class have access to a readily available source of nutritious snacks while working on their projects in class.

The items listed in this project make a difference in my classroom because most of the students in my class do not normally eat their breakfast or lunch in the school cafeteria.

To meet their energy needs, students sometimes buy snacks from the machine with their money. They also leave their classrooms and go to their friends in another classroom to ask for snacks. This is distracting to them and to their friends and also wastes valuable class time that could be spent making progress in their projects.

My students are special because they come from families with low socio-economic conditions. They also experienced some form of misfortune in their lives as children.

This project addresses some of their energy needs while they are in their classrooms.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
