Getting Crafty in Class!

Help me give my students materials for our Craftivism project! Through arts, crafts, and baking, students will pursue social justice with quiet, creative activism.

My Project

In this interdisciplinary "Craftivism" project, students will engage in a unique learning experience that combines the culinary arts, history, and English language arts to explore creativity, social justice issues, and cultural expression. Through hands-on crafting, cooking, and art, students will learn how to express their thoughts and emotions about social causes through various forms of artistic and culinary mediums.

Students will be researching historical movements and events that have influenced society, then using their findings to create meaningful, handmade pieces that represent these themes.

The craft projects will include crocheting, yarn bombing, embroidery projects, cooking, baking, fine arts, and more.
