Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are energetic 3 to 5 years who are in my early childhood special education class. My students are excited to learn, but they face obstacles not common to students who are in general education classes.
Our neighborhood school is consider high-risk for poverty, and is part of the Title I public school system.
Our class is culturally diverse and welcomes all students. Believing all students regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, and income should have a chance to learn to their fullest potential. With your support my students will develop a love for learning. My hope is to receive the necessary tools to succeed in this "kid-inspired" health and sports project.
Any donations to this project will be greatly beneficial to my students. The items requested will be used primarily to teach active and healthy living skills.
Teaching healthy living skills at an early age helps to build strong, healthy, and happy children.
Along with healthy living skills, other essential learning to learn skills will also be incorporated. By using the bean bags and corresponding songs, my students will learn listening, sharing, team building skills. By participating in group activities through the use of these items my young students will build essential life skills.
The large book and its corresponding manipulatives will be used to promote healthy and active life styles. While teaching the students about healthy choices, they will also be engaged in listing to literature. By using the hands-on manipulatives these young students are more likely to stay engaged in the listening to the story. Along with learning to love to read, they will also learn valuable skills such as listening, waiting, and turn taking.
