Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Having equipment for playing during recess time is a necessity. We need balls, jump ropes and a pump to be able to play during recess time and keep my students active.
Our school is a title one school.
My students are motivated and eager to learn, but they also need an opportunity to have fun on the yard. I have twenty-four kindergarten and first graders who go to recess and sometimes do not have equipment to play with on the yard. Not having equipment leads to disagreements and unhappy children. Providing equipment for them to use on the yard would enable them to build their physical skills and give them a better opportunity to develop social skills when playing in teams. Kindergarteners are learning there is a whole world out there to explore, and I want them to have the opportunity to play without tears.
My Project
My students need the Lakeshore Active Play Kit which brings a variety of balls, bean bags, and jump ropes for them to use and be active. We would also like additional swivel-handle jump ropes so more children can participate in the activities and an automatic ball inflator to inflate the balls. My students would be very engaged in activities while using the equipment, thus avoiding problems on the yard.
By providing this project for my students, you would be helping them engage in their play time.
They would be actively engaged rather than arguing because they do not have equipment to play with.
Please consider helping my students create healthy habits by engaging in play. You would not only be providing equipment, but the opportunity for my students to develop their social skills, sharing, problem solving and talking to each other. On behalf of my students I want to thank you for your help.
