Help me give my students organization with the use of the bin storage cart as well as the bins to go inside. We will also get organized with our morning tubs and new stools!
If I could describe my classroom in five words, they would be: authentic, hands-on, supportive, engaging, and community building. Students in my class have ownership of their own learning and a lot of what goes on happens organically. Because of the passion I have for teaching and my strong desire to share it with the kids, my class is definitely engaging. Hearing any student say, “Wow, class is over already?” is the best compliment I could get, right next to, “I wish I could stay in your class all day.” Every student in my classroom has a unique voice and everyone in the room must respect it. Creating community is essential to taking risks and deeper learning. I care about my kids and they know it. Taking the time to know my students well, not just as learners, but also as people, has helped to create a real sense of belonging in our shared space. No matter the obstacles they face outside the class, they strive to be the best they can be every single day.
My Project
As you know, lots of little bodies need a well organized classroom. With the new supply carts, we will be able to organize our morning STEM tubs as well as our headphones. We have had lots of broken or damaged headphones because they are getting tossed in a bucket and getting all mixed up. The bin storage system will help each child to have their own bin for leveled books and their personal headphones. My students have flexible seating options to choose from everyday. It is always a fight for the special stools. With this project, we will get an additional set!
