My Project

Throughout the day, we have multiple opportunities for our preschoolers to learn in a large group setting. Circle time, read-aloud, and math and literacy routines are some examples. Many of our children have a difficult time staying seated on the carpet and keeping their bodies calm during those activities.

Having sensory seating like the spinning chair, wobble chair, and wobble seats available at our circle time area will help the children keep their bodies busy so their minds can focus on the learning!

Adding the bands to their chairs will also give them a safe way to fidget without distracting the other children around them.

We work daily on social-emotional skills with our children, and we try to emphasize to them that not all children learn the same way. Sometimes there are friends who need a tool to keep their bodies busy so they can safely participate along with the group. Your donation would help give those children an alternative choice for seating, and in turn help them develop self-regulation. They learn that using a tool is a good choice to help keep their bodies calm. Calm bodies create an environment where all children are able to focus on learning!
