Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Outdoor learning helps students feel calmer, curious and more engaged as they explore the world around them. It can also improve their moods and spark creativity in a new environment.

Outdoor learning encourages students to build, explore, investigate and enrich STEAM learning beyond the walls of the classroom.

The Pitsco Rocket launcher provides materials for many students to build and test launching their own straw rocket. They will also learn about force and motion by building ramps and testing their designs. Younger students will use their imagination as they build whatever they can think of using the large building blocks.

Research has shown tremendous benefits from giving students outdoor learning opportunities. Students will experience joy and excitement from being outside and exploring nature! Our school has a large grass field and multiple areas that could be utilized for outdoor learning. This project would provide materials to use this outdoor space in a new way.
