My Project

Our students have an incredible opportunity to use heart rate technology to make physical education more engaging, meaningful, and personalized. We currently have 39 heart rate sensors, but we cannot use them because the straps no longer work properly or stay securely in place.

With your support, we will replace all 39 worn-out straps, purchase one replacement heart rate sensor, and fund the software license needed to use and project heart rate data during class.

Our goal is to help students better understand their own health and fitness. By seeing their heart rate in real time, students can learn about exercise intensity, identify target heart rate zones, set personal fitness goals, and track their progress.

This technology also shifts the focus away from who is the fastest or most athletic. Instead, students can focus on **their own effort, growth, and improvement**, making physical education more inclusive and motivating for everyone.

What makes this project special is that we already have most of the technology—we just need the resources to make it usable again. Rather than allowing 39 heart rate sensors to sit unused, this project will bring them back to life and put valuable technology directly into our students' hands.

Real-time feedback will help students connect how exercise feels with what is happening inside their bodies. Your support will help students take ownership of their fitness, celebrate personal progress, and develop healthy habits they can carry with them for a lifetime.
