Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are perfect learners. They possess a love of learning that needs to be encouraged! The class is considered a STEM class. Many of our students speak Spanish and English. The students spend extra time learning within integrated math and science lessons. They love school and enjoy working in groups. We are a Title 1 school so we could use any financial support for educational materials to support our students. This does not keep them from being the best they can by working hard every day to be the best they can be!

My Project

These wonderful assortment of books such as "The Library Card" and "James and the Giant Peach" will spark an interest and love for reading, not only this year but for many years to come. These classic stories will open the pathways to great discussions which will foster reading comprehension to support the NY State learning standards. Students will use these books during our reading block in addition to supporting our district curriculum requirements.

My students work very well in groups, these novels will make for great literature circles to get others hooked on reading their next book!

To end with Dr. Seuss, "the more you read the more things you know. The more you learn, the more places you'll go!."
