This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are so eager to learn math and reading, they are amazing with technology and really enjoy online learning. Living in Detroit naturally makes them strong and independent. I have the future of the world in my class today!!

My Project

My students will learn the importance of physical activity, taking responsibility of moving and counting steps. We will apply this to math by adding and counting on. Both of which are first grade standards. My students will create daily goals to increase physical movement. They will learn more about skip counting, place value and more! My goal is to make sure all of my students have a pedometer by the end of the school year. We will fight childhood obesity and complete math at the same time! Let's have fun!
