Help me give my students a classroom library set with Flex-Space Comfy floor seats and calming color pillows to help build a reading corner where my students can practice the reading skills they are learning in class.
I teach special education at a Title One school with students ranging from kindergarten through 5th grade. I have created a community atmosphere in my room where students know they are valued and loved.
My students have great work ethic as they daily persevere through their learning challenges.
The work we do in my classroom helps the students learn how to express their emotions in a positive way. We learn how to have grit and keep going when things get hard, and we celebrate the little successes that we make daily.
My Project
Many of my students do not have the opportunity to read at home. Every student deserves an opportunity to participate in independent reading time. My students love to read books of high interest that are at their reading level. Creating a comfortable place for them to curl up with a book will help my students discover the joy of reading.
With the new books and comfortable seating options they can spend time immersed in a story.
This project will allow my students to practice their reading skills that they are learning in class and learn to enjoy the written word.
