My students need a comfy corner where they can immerse themselves into books. The canopy and beanbags will give students an opportunity to get comfy while immersed in their books.
My students are amazing second graders in a high poverty area.
They are eager to learn and are full of life.
My students are so enthusiastic about doing their work but frequently do not have the materials needed to do so. Often times, they are faced with outside forces that impede their ability to learn effectively.
I strive to make learning fun for my students and I truly enjoy watching them gain a love of learning. My students enjoy learning in various ways including using books and through the use of technology.
My Project
What's the best way to dive into a book??? Well, in a comfy corner of course! My students spend most of their mornings reading at a desk. Oftentimes, they will ask me to sit on the rug because they want to be comfortable while reading.
Creating a comfy corner will give my students the opportunity to get super comfy while immersing themselves into their books.
I am requesting a large bean bag, comfy oversized pillows, a cozy corner canopy and a cushioned seat to create a comfortable environment for my students to read. My students will absolutely love this little oasis for them to read!!
