This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are always happy, eager, fun-loving, and excited to be at school. For many of them, this is their first, full-day experience with school, learning, and making friends. They are growing up in an urban area, where life looks even more different now that covid has hit. School is a safe and happy place.
My students enjoy hands-on, interactive learning.
They have limitless imagination and it is a wonderful experience to see them grow and learn from the wonderful classroom materials that we have. I can't wait to see them all grow and become their best self despite Covid and all the challenges it brings to our classroom family.
My Project
These materials will be used in math centers at school. The students in my classroom love anything hands on. The materials I am requesting help them learn through building. Kindergartners learn best through doing and visualizing. They will be learning through play. They will utilize these materials both in groups and individually. These can also be used as a activity to give a student that is an early finisher. The more opportunities for learning experiences are encouraged. I hope that by supplying these engaging materials to my students that they will become better at addition and counting.
