This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

After sitting through a whole day of school, my students love to go outside and get active. Their favorite sports to play are basketball, football, and soccer. However, because they come from low-income families, many of my children are unable to purchase their own sports gear.

To strengthen their minds and bodies, my students need basic equipment that will enable them to play the sports they love.

Each month, my students earn points for our school wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program as they do actions that exhibit the school's core values. Students spend PBIS points at online stores operated by teachers and staff. In my store, I would like to offer several basketballs, footballs, and soccer balls, which students can purchase for 20 PBIS points apiece.
