My students need headphones, markers, stickers, and chair bands in order to fully equip their classroom! These materials will promote student engagement and hands-on learning!
I work with a unique population of students consisting of children who speak a language other than English at home and many who live in poverty. Despite the challenges my students face in their personal lives, love and learning take place every day in my classroom. I set high expectations for my students, encourage them, and guide them to reach their full potential in all that they do. I hope to use DonorsChoose.org in order to make learning fun and accessible for them.
My Project
This project will fully equip my first grade classroom for the beginning of the new school year! I have done a lot of shopping and purchased many items to outfit my classroom, and these are some of the last items we will need to have a great school year! My project includes materials such as: student incentives (candy, stickers, and treasure box toy stuffers) that will motivate my students, flexible seating/lighting options (bilbos, chair bands, LED finger lights, and fluorescent light covers) which will provide students will alternative, comfortable spaces to read and work, office supplies (chart markers, laminating pouches, name plates and mounting tape) which will help prepare the classroom for learning, and items to enhance interactive reading and writing instruction, such as play dough, headphones, and poster letters. I plan to use these supplies to make learning FUN and give my students choices in their learning. Thank you for reading and helping us learn! My first graders and I appreciate it.
