This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

This year has been filled with many exciting hands-on classroom activities. As we wind down the school year, it is imperative that we keep the momentum going. With the completion of this project, we will basically have everything we need for each student to participate in labs. Constructing the lava lamp with food coloring, Alka-Seltzer, and plastic bottles is one of the most anticipated projects of the year. The students are instantly calmed by the movements of the oil while learning about density, physical, and chemical changes. Demonstrating variations in speed with the bubble gum and stopwatches is so helpful in aiding the students to grasp the concept of speed. Of course, we always need paper and ink to print the lab instructions. With your help, all of our scholars will end the year with the boost necessary to carry them on to the next grade!
