My students need help funding their end of year field trip to LegoLand so that they can celebrate their time at GSA and see and experience science concepts taught in class.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, we believe that our students have the right to learn without limits. My students are readers, writers, mathematicians, and scientists. They are curious and inspired by the world around them. And we are working tirelessly to help foster an environment where they explore, discover, create, and dream. Our school is in a rural Arizona community, close to the Mexico and California borders. We have a diverse group of students, all of whom have CHOSEN to attend our school because of the rigorous, fast paced curriculum, learning environment, and learning opportunities provided to them.
It is our mission to provide our students with a challenging and inquiry-based STEM curriculum to maximize individual potential and ensure that our students succeed in a global community.
Our goal is to expose students to as many learning opportunities as possible to best prepare them to be highly engaged global citizens while simultaneously pushing them to think and make connections in new and meaningful ways.
My Project
We would love to take our 6th grade class on a year end field trip to Legoland. This trip will be the culmination of our students educational experience at our STEM school, before moving on to middle school.
This trip will allow students to extend their knowledge and application of STEM concepts including being able to participate in a simple machines workshop class and a squid dissection workshop while at Legoland.
This is such an amazing opportunity for our students, and we will do whatever it takes to support the funds to help them take advantage of this wonderful experience. We want to leave them with a lasting impact that will hold a special place in their hearts and minds.
While this DonorsChoose project will provide only a portion of the money needed to take this trip, we will have ongoing fundraising events occurring to contribute to the overall amount needed to make this trip a reality.
