My Project

The chemistry teachers at SHS are looking to transform our sophomore's science experience through hands-on exploration of one of the more challenging topics in high school chemistry, gas laws. Picture the excitement as students dive into student-driven inquiry-based investigations, fueled by the chemicals, materials, and essential pieces of equipment provided through this project.

Your support will enable us to turn theory into practice, fostering a deep understanding of complex scientific principles in our students.

By participating in these experiments, our students won't just memorize gas laws; they will experience them firsthand, making science come alive in a way that textbooks can't capture. Students will use the materials to design a more eco-friendly airbag, investigate how a pressure difference resulted in the collapse of a railway car, and determine the amount of fuel necessary to produce the required gas for a hot air balloon flight across the Indian Ocean.
