Gardening Is the Goal at WVSD

Help me give my students a learning vegetable garden. I want the kids to see where their food comes from but to also be introduced to healthier foods.

My Project

There is a lack of extra curricular activities at the school that are not sport oriented. A number of the kids at the school do not have access to healthier fruits and vegetables and often make the decision to purchase very unhealthy foods. I am hoping with a garden club at the school, kids will learn a skill, how to eat healthy, appreciate where fresh food comes from and maybe, a little science along the way. I am hoping we can grow foods we can share with the school through the cafeteria.
