Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

More than three‑quarters of my students are from low‑income households. COVID-19 has caused a lot of challenges for my students. Most of our students live in apartments that have little to no outdoor space that is why our garden is essential.

My Project

Many of our students live in spaces that do not include open areas to garden. Our school has a space where many of our students can begin to plant and learn the many lessons that nature has to offer. Our children's garden can be that safe haven that begins our students' love for nature.

Once we have gardening tools our students will then begin transforming the garden.

During these difficult times, I want our students to find a place that they can transform and make their own and see how beautiful life can be.
