Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

It is important for students to learn about our environment and take ownership in our school gardens on campus. We have 20+ raised beds and a field on our elementary school campus that the students currently plant each year. They are in charge or planting, harvesting, and taking care of the plants. Once the crops are harvested, we share them with those in our community. In order to give my 17 students in my class ownership in our school garden, I am requesting gloves, watering cans, and plant stakes to stake our tomatoes that we already have planted. This will allow all the students the opportunity to be involved daily in the school garden.
