Gaming for the Future

Help me give my students the tools they need to become successful game programmers and test their code using the Oculus Quest 3.

My Project

For this project I am looking to get 3 Meta Quest 3s. These headsets will not only impact my computer science students but also my Esports players. My goal is to teach students how to program using languages like Lua, Unity, and Unreal Engine to create and test their own games. Virtually reality headsets are becoming more and more common in the workplace and in education. Giving my students the opportunities can help to foster a love of coding.

Coders will be in demand and students need to have opportunities to build coding skills early on.

I currently teach two courses of computer science and will be adding a 3rd class next year. This project will help to challenge my year three students and to give them options in regards to what they would like to study. By having this student focused choice option I hope to encourage more students to take computer science classes.
