My Students

My students live in a small, rural, farming community. I have been their librarian since fall 2018 and we have had so much fun reading stories together. The students are creative and curious. I recently started an after school game club for students in grades 3-6. We meet once a week for an hour of playing board games. So far, we've played games I bring from my house. Aside from basketball, this is the only after school activity currently available to these students through the school.

My Project

I recently started a game club at my school for students in grades 3-6. We meet after school in the library once a week. So far, we have played games that I have brought from home.

I would love to have these games available for students to borrow from the library so they can play at home with their families too.

I think it's important to provide students with opportunities to socialize face to face outside of the regular school day, to think strategically, and to play. The games listed all challenge students to form a strategy, adapt their strategy throughout, and engage with their opponent(s).
