My Students

My classroom community is made up of actively engaged learners! My students are critical thinkers who love to solve problems, ask questions, work collaboratively and grow their thinking.

My students love to play different types of games!!

They like to play classic board games, new games, word games and math games just to name a few. Giving my students an opportunity to play is important in their social development. When playing games they practice sharing, communication skills and problem solving.

My Project

These games will make a difference in my students learning because I believe in the importance of giving my students the opportunity to play in the classroom. The games I chose will help my students build their critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.

The various skills my students practice when playing games are used in other areas of our classroom!!

When my students are playing games together they are practicing communicating their thoughts and ideas in a respectful manner. Playing allows them to work on taking turns and getting along with others. When my students are playing games they are using their problem solving skills. They are also using the different strategies they've learned, to work through situations that might arise with the other players during the course of the game.

They use these skills when they work in partnerships and small groups. They use these skills in the cafeteria during lunch and recess. Learning how to communicate their thoughts and ideas, problem solve and get along with others are lifelong skills that need to be practiced.
