My Students

My students are eager to learn. They walk into my classroom every day, ready to learn and full of life. They love working with each other and are very curious about the world around them.

I teach in a Title I school, and my students come from a variety of backgrounds.

Over sixty percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. They are ready for a 21st-century learning environment that helps them develop collaboration skills. These skills will prepare them for what the future holds. They also love participating in our weekly STEM/STEAM activities.

My Project

My students love playing games.

They love playing familiar games that have been around forever.

Wouldn't it be fun to play familiar games that they already know and love during math?

Candyland, Connect 4, and Chutes and Ladders are all games that children have played for years and are familiar with. My project would allow students to play board games that they are already familiar, but modify it by bringing in some math concepts that they are currently working on. This would make math more fun and engaging. Thank you for considering my project!
