I have 23 excited third graders who are loving the wonders of our new classroom. They are ready to learn everything they can. Our school is a suburban district that is experiencing rapid growing pains.
Education is valued and my students are encouraged and pushed to work so that they can reach their highest potential.
They come from diverse backgrounds and many have dual working parent families who all want their children to have a positive and creative learning experience.
My Project
My students currently have only a couple of options for outdoor play on our playground. I am needing jump ropes, catch balls, bean Bag Toss games and playground balls for them to use. These games will give them new opportunities to develop and practice necessary social skills.
The games will encourage outdoor play with games that lead to development of physical skills, and also allow them to bond with their peers which will help develop social and emotional skills.
Playing games allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development.
