This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

With a school population of 15% of students in temporary housing, 37% as English Language Learners, and 40% having disabilities, I am determined to ensure the best possible experiences for my students. As a bilingual/ENL teacher, all my students are English Language Learners. English Language Learners face unique problems in addition to what general education students encounter. Providing a safe environment with the necessary tools will allow my students to succeed academically.

Reading is the key to learning.

As a kindergarten and first grade ENL provider, my students are at a critical age where their academic success begins with reading. My goal is to foster a love for reading in a safe environment.

My Project

Kindergarten and first grade are such critical ages for emergent readers. Striking the right balance between traditional learning and games is key to growing a love for reading.

Your donations will allow me to use fun games and tools to help my students learn how to read.

In our classroom, the majority of our students are English Language Learners. Visual and tactile manipulatives are very important in language acquisition. The vocabulary tubs are an important tool for language exposure. The combination of visual and tactile tools, which will be possible through this donation, will allow my students to be exposed to the English language.
