My students come from a variety of backgrounds and home lives. I have students who live in 2 parent homes, single parent homes, have step parents, or are being raised by their grandparents. I have students who have attended my school since their first day of kindergarten and I have students who have been to more schools than they can count.
But the one thing all of my students have in common the moment they set foot through my door is me.
I am a constant that they will have and will continue to have as long as they want me there. My students are amazing whether they know it or not. I always want to be able to show them what they are capable of.
My Project
Students nowadays are more tech-savvy than most adults. I believe in cultivating their love for technology then holstering it. By having these Chromebooks within the classroom, students will be able to access a variety of things such as websites for research, online learning games, use of Google applications such as Docs, Slides, Classroom, Sheets. Students will be able to digitally complete something and submit it to the teacher instead of the dreaded paper report. Digitally submitting something allows students to add a touch of themselves by adding graphics and formatting to something that they like and are proud of.
Chromebooks allow students to discover, explore and share with their peers.
This also leads into teaching each other how they did something or where they found it at. Our schools want our students to use technology but sometimes do not always supply enough of it for all the teachers and students to use. We have to share what is there and that does not allow a consistent time with the technology. Our students are our future and in order to ensure that our future is capable, we have to give them the right tools.
