I have some of the sweetest, intelligent, most creative students in my classroom! They enjoy a variety of academic subjects, and are bubbling over with delight as they make discoveries and acquire new knowledge.
Sharing these discoveries and this new knowledge with their peers, teacher, and visiting adults, creates a great sense of pride that is addictive.
They enter each morning with beaming faces, and eagerly call out, "Can I share?"
Observing these phenomenal moments of children teaching and learning from each other reminds me of why I became a teacher in the first place.
My Project
My students are eager to volunteer their thoughts, questions, and wonderings during lessons and discussions. I love having the ability to monitor student engagement and student desires to contribute to learning.
Students regularly miss opportunities to share what's on their minds because their teacher cannot see them and the material being presented simultaneously.
Often times, students naturally raise their human hands, instead of indicating with their virtual hands, that they desire to be heard. Sadly, these efforts go unnoticed, as I struggle to toggle back and forth between the students and the material I wish to present to them.
Utilizing a second screen during remote learning would greatly benefit all involved, and help resolve some technological issues.
