My Students

Welcome to the world of second grade. Second grade is a time to work together collaboratively using technology and hands-on activities.

"Sometimes looking into a classroom is a bit like looking into a beehive: the uninformed visitor might see lots of bees moving in many directions with no apparent logic, but the beekeeper knows what each bee is doing and how an activity fits within the overall pattern."(Author Unknown).

My classroom is a diverse group of students from English Language Learners, military families, gifted, special needs, and everything inbetween. With students curious about the world around them, we provide them resources to develop their potential talents.

My Project

Playing games is a great way to improve student learning in the classroom. Students learn and retain more if they are able to actively practice skills. Math and language games allow students to show their knowledge in a fun way without paper practice.

Playing games in the classroom also allows students to develop necessary soft skills.

These soft skills such as taking turns and how to win and lose are important skills to develop in the classroom. Many students are not taught these necessary skills and playing games is a great way to develop these skills.
