Hello. I am an elementary school (k-5) physical education teacher, currently working for two schools in Nevada
I absolutely love it, when my students are enthusiastic to learn a new skill or game.
It is inspiring to see when a student has finally "got it," and has reached, or are beginning to get near to reaching mastery. I hear the success across the field, and in the gym, with "watch me; look at this; watch this throw; I caught the ball."
We did a lacrosse skills event with youth coaches from the area. They brought lacrosse sticks and equipment and introduced the students at GES to the sport of lacrosse. The enthusiasm for the novelty, in regard to the skills used and the equipment used was contagious. I borrowed equipment from another school and started a lacrosse unit. It lent itself to new learning and to new opportunity to be involved in youth games offered in our area.
Because of this new interest, I am requesting a Lacrosse Junior Lax, set, along with a volley lite volleyball trainer set, and a new set of nerf dodge balls, all of which lend to hands-on learning, while catching, throwing and participating in a variety of games/ skills. I am hoping that I can continue to inspire students to work towards achieving skills and goals. Turning students on to new activities and gaining interest in physical activity (despite a world of increasing technology,) is a goal that I continue to pursue while I teach P.E. Please help me to continue to see enthusiasm and excitement for learning! Please help me fund the items for our future skills and starts.
