I teach 75 fourth graders science and social studies at a Title I school in rural southern Illinois. Many of my students come from homes where emphasis is not placed on learning. In our classroom we aim to change that. I want my students to leave my classroom with a genuine love for learning! I strive to cultivate this love of learning by exposing them to engaging reading materials and hands-on learning experiences.
Fourth graders are awesome!
They are still young enough to be eager to learn, but are mature enough to have great discussions about science, social studies, and current events. My goal for my kiddos this year is to provide them hands-on science experiment opportunities and inspire in them a love of social studies!
My Project
These materials will provide hands-on learning experiences for my students. They will enhance and deepen my students knowledge of key science and social studies concepts, and allow me to differentiate learning for our diverse population of learners.
