Fourth graders are awesome! They are mature enough that they can engage in great discussions, and they love to learn and discover new ideas! We love to experiment and investigate new things in our classroom! Our school population is comprised of students who primarily come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Three-quarters of our students live in poverty. These students don't have many opportunities to learn in the home. Items like books and learning materials are a luxury. This year I was able to give my student's each a few books for them to have as their very own. You would think I had given them treasure! They were so excited! This is why it is vitally important that these students be given rich, engaging learning experiences within the classroom.

About my class
