Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My loving students come from low-income homes. Most of the school's students are non-English speaking students. About 80% of the school population receives free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast.
It would be so nice to come to school and have a nice learning environment.
My classroom atmosphere is warm and nurturing so that my students feel comfortable and safe.
Some of my students live in a shelter. Some of my students share their bedrooms with their whole family because several families live in a house that is supposed to be for one family.
My Project
The Ten-Frames and Number Bond magnetic boards will help my students develop skills in addition and subtraction.
I need to educate my students in a fun way that helps them foster their mathematical skills and learn mental math with hands-on materials.
My students will have lots of fun while learning at their math centers, developing skills and the understanding that two-digit numbers represent tens and ones when using the Place Value Game. The Place Value Playing Cards will also inspire my students to master these challenging mathematical skills and motivate students to learn in an exciting way.
