My students are special because of the diversity they bring to the classroom. I have a melting pot of students with a varied level of educational, emotional, and economic needs.
One thing that surprises me is their desire to be great in spite of their obstacles.
My students come to class each day with this unabashed eagerness to learn. They are like baby cubs, ready to explore and tackle the world. My students never let anything stop them from trying new things and they never show defeat. They have limited career role models. I would like to broaden their possibilities by offering real-life experiences as often as possibilities.
Visiting the Austin Aquarium will promote education through a hands-on experience in a comfortable environment. My students will have the opportunity to explore sea life and touch a variety of animals. Our students will have access to the excitement and learning opportunities of the ocean without the long trip to the coast.
Many are my students are animal lovers.
When asked about their career choices, my students' responses are veterinarians. Those responses make my heart sing. Going to the Austin Aquarium will provide my students with an introduction to other animals that needs a veterinarian's care.
This project will cover the cost of admission to the Austin Aquarium.
