My Students

My students are energetic eager learners who love to do math in the south end of Seattle! My students love to engage in math in a teamwork environment. They love doing the math on whiteboard tables rather than on conventional paper with a pencil. They engage a computer program and do the math on the tabletops. This allows all to see the thinking of everyone involved and learn from each other on a daily basis not just from the teacher. Donations will help

students engage in the math they are learning, their communication skills, and help develop real-world skills for the common workplace.

My students are consistently marginalized and underrepresented, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Project

My students do math every day on Whiteboard tables that I paint with them every semester. In order to do the math and engage in teamwork, students need various materials on a regular basis. I want to be able to provide these materials to my students. These materials allow students to engage each other in a teamwork environment where everybody’s voice is heard and mathematical discourse is encouraged and engaging. Attacking real-world problems in order to understand how ratios and proportions work how percentages work in various environments, like tips, taxes, and purchasing things on sale. These are just some of the exciting and engaging math activities they take part In during the school year.
