My Project

Help me give my students new equipment to exercise with during PE class.

My students need new equipment to play with in Physical Education class because we have very limited supplies and resources.

A few basketballs, jump ropes and a balance beam will go a long way with my students.

How can we help fight childhood obesity if the students don't have anything to play with? A review of school-wide data indicate that students who are not engaged in daily physical activity are more likely to be obese.

My students come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, and many are living in homes that are below the poverty line.

All of our students receive free lunch. Our school is one of the most ethnically diverse schools inPhiladelphia. My students speak a multitude of languages including English and Spanish. As diverse as our students are culturally, they are just as diverse in their academics. We currently have 400 students enrolled from grades K-5. Funds are extremely tight in my school district, and our students need every resource they can get.
