Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the great pleasure of teaching the sweetest 3rd graders! A typical day in our 3rd-grade classroom looks very different than it did before the pandemic and I strive to provide students with a comfortable learning space. My students are 8 years old and they are naturally curious learners. They learn best through movement and play activities that keep them engaged.

My students are energetic learners that love school!

They want to learn about the world around them. They are just starting their journey to become lifelong learners and I am looking to make this experience as memorable for them as possible!

My Project

Our classroom needs to be more functional for students to minimize distractions and clutter.

Our class is in desperate need of coat hooks that are well spaced out and allow students to have their materials organized.

Currently all of our hooks are very close together and some are even broken. It makes the classroom look cluttered and we are left with picking up our jackets off of the ground multiple times a day.

This project is not only to give us access to classroom hooks that are better spaced out and allow our class to look less cluttered, but also for some student stacking stools for collaborative work. This will help minimize the clutter on the group during group work and allow students to space out around the classroom.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
