This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are awesome! They are motivated, energetic, and eager to learn! They bring in a rich cultural diversity to our classroom community.

At the beginning of the year, we are busy building long lasting and meaningful relationships with one another.

As a whole class, we represent a community of life long learners. I try to instill the sense that we are a family and we must support each other by holding each other accountable, showing compassion, and building each other up.

They are an amazing bunch of kids and I am beyond thrilled to watch them grow.

My Project

Students perform at varying writing levels in my classroom. Many are reluctant to begin a writing task because they perceive them as too hard. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they have fun writing tools to use. My students need fun and engaging writing tools to practice their sight words and spelling words.

They love using the gel pens and colored pencils to practice their phonic skills.

We would also be able to thoroughly review the writing process by using the colored pencils to highlight different types of sentences. These tools will make writing time much easier and more fun!
