My Students

Our Title I elementary school serves scholars in grades Pre-K through fifth grade and is located in a high poverty and transient military area. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My students are an energetic and loving group and arrive at school each day prepared and ready to learn!

Even with some of the hurdles that they face from day to day, they love coming to the math lab and learning mathematical skills. The math lab is an equitable learning common for all scholars, regardless of learning style or background.

My Project

In the midst of this pandemic, our students missed a lot of instructional time. It is my goal to support them in terms of strengthening their mathematical skills by giving resources to practice at home during summer. In this way, they would be able to fill the learning gaps they had this school year, especially when it comes to Math Fluency. They need strong background knowledge on the four fundamental operations in Math. These math games are student-friendly and would not require any use of technology. Parents can even join their children in playing these games.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
