My Students

Fractions are interesting, but very tricky for second graders.

I teach in a high-needs public school in Maine.

Our school is in the city and has a diverse population of students. We are proud to be an Expeditionary Learning school that promotes rigorous work, mindful thinking, real world challenges, and hands-on experiences.

My Project

We really need some fraction games and activities that will make fractions exciting and fun for seven-year-olds. This project requests five different fractions games/activities that teach basic fractions as well as how to compare different fractions. Students will be able to make pizzas, sink ships, stamp fractions, and solve puzzles while learning to excel in fraction work.

In second grade we strive to build a strong foundation in all math skills.

Please help fund our fractions activities and games so my young mathematicians will understand that fractions are everywhere in the world. Help make fractions fun!
