My Students
I have the best students! I have been teaching theatre for 13 years and this group of kids is some of the most enthusiastic and hard working students I have ever taught! My students come into my theatre class to disengage from the rest of the world and create new characters and scenarios to immerse themselves in. They are constantly finding new ways to express themselves through the theatre.
Middle school is such a tough time for kids; the THEATRE gives them a place to be themselves and use their unique abilities to create something new.
My Project
During our Makeup Unit for my Theatre II class, the students learn how to make stage blood and bruises. I have always wanted to expand their learning to include fantasy makeup. Using CC Beauty Professional Face and Body Paint, students will learn the ins and outs of creating unique and personalized fantasy makeup for different literary characters. They will get to bring well known characters, such as Titania from Midsummer Night's Dream and the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland, to life on the stage!
Students will get to use their own creativity to bring a character's physical appearance to life on the stage.
Students will gain confidence in their abilities to use stage makeup and also further push their creativity into creating something for the stage.
