Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school strives for all students to be safe, kind, and respectful. Within my classroom, we have a sense of community by following the Bucket Filler theme. The students in my class strive every day to fill someone's bucket or to help those that are dipping into a friend's bucket. They all care deeply about one another and the classroom environment.
Every day my students are working towards being Bucket Fillers throughout the school.
They make me so proud each and every day!
My Project
Social and emotional skills are a huge part of every elementary classroom. During many incidents, it is very difficult for students to express themselves with words because of the fear of "getting in trouble." Working in the Newark School System, many of my students struggle greatly with expressing themselves with their words. The games that I am requesting for my classroom will benefit my students by teaching them how to use kind words while playing the activities.
All of your help will enable these students to have social and emotional activities within the classroom that will help teach them the importance of being safe, kind, and respectful.
