FUN Tools to BUILD Foundational Reading Skills!

Help me give my students tools to use to increase their phonemic awareness and also improve their reading and writing skills. The easel and magnetic letters will help us to improve our reading as we play with sounds.

My Students

I have 60 wonderful first grade students. They are learning Spanish and they love to learn. They learn best when the learning experiences are hands on, fun, and when I model a concept first and then practice it with them a lot before they do it on their own. They are mostly Caucasian and some are Hispanic.

My Project

We’ll use these fun materials at school, but they could also be used during online lessons. Students will be able to manipulate sounds in words, as they move the letter magnets around, helping them to read and spell hundreds of words. As they build words in an engaging way, the whole class will master essential literacy skills. Eventually all of the students will be able to use their own word tiles, as the big ones are being used, so everyone can enjoy the word building process at the same time.
