This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
The Scholastic magazines are a great resource for students to read about current events that are of high interest to them. The magazines are on their level of understanding current events and help students relate to the topics. Students want to read the magazines. The activities that go with the magazines are engaging and support literacy in the classroom.
The magazines will promote curiosity, literacy and engage my students to read and want to learn more.
The goals I have for the magazines is to promote literacy in the classroom and keep my students highly interested and engaged in reading and loving math more.
My students are an inquisitive class and want to learn. They want to be engaged in the learning process and have a zeal to read more than just the textbooks we have. These stories in the magazines relate to the science we learn and topics we discuss in class.
