My Students

At Apopka Elementary our students love project based learning opportunities and competitions. Our school offers many opportunities for students to experience the excitement of demonstrating their learning in unique ways. These students love any and every opportunity to learn new things.

My Project

We lost alot of funding that would normally go toward extra materials for math and science. These kits will be provided to the teachers in grades 4-5 who are looking for fun ways to allow students to practice fractions with other students in centers. This is one of our school's targeted areas for student growth. Alot of what our students have now are all computer based programs which do not encourage collaborative work. I am hoping that by providing these kits to each teacher, the students will enjoy being able to work through the problems and learn how to respectfully debate answers with one another. (Not just another test prep worksheet!)
